An excerpt from the title story “Clan”:

“The light inside the vending machine is white. I see droplets on the Milo cans. I want to sing: Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth! Belinda Carlisle. 1987. Heaven on Earth. That’s what an ice-cold Milo is on a hot and sleepy summer’s afternoon. I can go on and on about how fantastic it tastes, but why bother when I can offer you the thing itself? I mean, whatever goes into me goes to you too, right?”
